These are useful applications that will not usually be installed when you install Linux, but are avaialble within the Linux distribution repositry and can easily be installed for free:

• mysql

Remote Access

There are several way to remotely access a Linux computer:

• Secure shell (ssh) gives terminal access
• Virtual Network Computing (VNC) gives graphical access
• Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) gives graphical access
