Running the Pi without a screen
Once the Raspberry Pi is set up and is attached to a network you can then control it without connecting:
- a screen
- a keyboard
- a mouse
- Secure shell (ssh) gives terminal access
- Virtual Network Computing (VNC) gives graphical access
- Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) gives graphical access
If you forward the appropriate ports through the firewall to the Pi, then you can also control the Pi from a remote location over the internet.
It is possible to use a Kindle Fire as the screen, keyboard and mouse.
This is known as a "kindleberry Pi".
